How we check
Every minute, each site is requested through the same proxy that serves it to you. A site counts as operational only if every check that applies to it passes:
- Responds with HTTP 200.
- Content verified: a phrase from the real page is present, so a broken, parked or defaced page fails.
- Fast: answers within the site's response-time limit.
- Certificate: valid, with more than 14 days left. A site its owner serves over plain HTTP shows n/a (HTTP) here; that is a choice, not a fault.
These checks run on our own servers, so they confirm the sites, certificates and servers are working. They don't measure your internet provider's route to us. Uptime counts every check, including any that fail.
